This beautiful typographic poster made of folded paper was designed and constructed by Montreal-based designers Kyosuke Nishida, Brian Li and Dominic Liu for the Words Can Fly A Thousand Miles Project. The piece shows a number of origami cranes bursting through the surface of carefully crafted type.

Yet another quarter has flown by. Three down, five to go! I’m reminded of what a tremendous privilege it is to be in school for something like this.
Anyhow, here’s the final rendition of my chalk lettering for a publication assignment I was working on. I foolishly did the bottom half first making it a lot more difficult for myself when moving onto the top. I also now know that cheap chalk (Crayola) doesn’t show up as brightly as the higher quality stuff (Prang).

Marcus. Silhouetted Superhero Poster.

Batman.

Spiderman.

If you liked Malaysia-based graphic designer Marcus’ minimalist UP poster, you just might enjoy his simple yet creative silhouetted superhero posters. The series of works, which are available in the artist’s Etsy shop known as Poster Inspired, feature four famous superheroes including Batman, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America, whom we’ve all grown familiar with through Hollywood blockbusters.

With each of these characters coming out with another big-budget film this year (The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers), perhaps it’s perfect timing to grab one of these fantastic four (comic book joke) 12” x 16” digital prints that cost only $18 each. Personally, I love the shadowy sullen profile of Batman composed of bats. The dark knight is his own cave of emotions… or just bats. (by Pinar)
